Lauretta Forester is a native Michigander from the metro Detroit area. At age 12, she started to realize her creative passions giving her reluctant younger sister a “Vidal Sassoon” asymmetrical haircut while she sat in a lawn chair in the family’s backyard. In spite of the results of this early attempt at hair designing, the spark was ignited and she enrolled in cosmetology school after high school graduation. The creative juices started flowing with this training and Lauretta soon found herself happy to be part of an industry that allowed for creative expression.
After marrying a photographer, Lauretta became interested in photo-styling. She began styling hair and makeup for professional advertising photographers. It was not long before clients recognized her incredible style and energy. Lauretta was soon specializing in wardrobe and prop styling as well. It was during this time she collaborated with artists to create photographic works of art. All of these experiences lead her to Time and Again where she searches for unique items to repurpose, renew or create to add beauty to special events in everyday life.
Lauretta sees potential everywhere, from vintage stores to garage sales and sometimes even at the curbside. These found items are made into unique and treasured works of art. Family and friends who have always admired the unique style of her own home designs knew that Lauretta truly had a gift to share with others.
Lauretta is the mother of two creative and wonderful sons. She loves her home state of Michigan where the shorelines are both plentiful and inspirational. She feels that true creative talents are a gift from God and works daily to develop these talents.
